About Nina
Nina O'Brien-Miller is the author of Sara Storm: The Midnight Message, the first book in The Pinecone Pathway Series. A former writer and producer in the Boston news market, she holds a degree in Communication and Broadcast Journalism from Simmons University.
She came to fiction writing the way most parents do: her children asked a question she couldn't answer simply. When her kids began worrying about climate change, she decided a story would reach them better than a science lesson — and enlisted her eldest son to help write the first draft.
"A 10-year-old somewhere needs to see herself as a guardian of the natural world. My stories can be the thing that makes her believe that."
When she isn't writing, Nina tends her garden with the same care she brings to her work on the page. She can usually be found bundled up at hockey rinks across New England, cheering on her two goalies.
She lives in Massachusetts.
